Well that would make sense too.. But I'm thinking that it's too
dangerous to have export and export-as next to each other, in case the
above happens by mistake.

Probably just the one File->Export dialogue that presents a filebox with
by default the same name as the lyx file, with radio buttons for the
file types. The default export file type would be whatever was last
used, and te filename would be remembered as well after the first export
of the session.

Then for people like me who export after every picky little change they
can hit a couple of buttons (even keyboard shortcut) and repeat the last
export.
