Short answer: use the new psnfss packages for times and palatino, as recommended in the l2tabu doc (and in the psnfss doc). Get rid of pslatex. It's bad. Add an option for lmodern. Caveat 1: do we have to take care if the user has the most recent psnfss packages installed? I.e., do we have to check for mathpazo and fall back to its precessor mathppl or even to the precessor of mathppl, namely palatino? (same counts for mathptmx <- mathptm <- times). Caveat 2: We should probably not hardcode the sans serif and typewriter fonts for mathpazo and mathptmx. I.e., we should propose good solutions (cf. the l2tabu doc), but we should also provide the oportunity to adjust this. But maybe this is the second step. That's it. BTW the l2tabu doc also declares a4.sty and a4wide.sty as *BAD*. I really think we should drop support for these too. Jürgen.
