It's 3.4.2.
This version ships with FreeBSD 5.3 (latest release).
This version of gcc may be the default compiler on FreeBSD
for quite some time to come, I guess.

I'll see if I can manage to ring a few bells on the FreeBSD
mailinglist about this issue.
