Sounds good. Junk the change in config/cygwin.m4 and add the following three lines to configure.ac (right before the BOOST_USER_CONFIG define in the AH_BOTTOM call):
#ifdef __CYGWIN__ #define BOOST_POSIX 1 #endif That is certainly clearer and does what I want.
