Seems to mee that all the floats are the same (algorithm, table, figure) exchept that they get different caption (figure X, algorithm X, table X) and they appear in the "list of figure", "list of algorithms" or "list of tables". So, the algorithm float when writing about algorithms. I believe the table and the figure is used much more, but lyx/latex is most popular with math/computer people who are the ones who might want to use algoritmhs. > tried to use it for program codelines, but the package for this purpose, > listings, comes with its own float type. > So could you tell me for what the algorithm float is useful? > Pehaps they're less useful once we get "listings" support in the lyx user interface. Still, an algorithm isn't necessarily computer code. Helge Hafting
