Hi, Zvi.
There *can be* a file "preferences" that has been created by the user,
but the Windows Installer that you use to install LyX 1.3.6 won't
create it. If the user goes on to create it, it'll be found at
C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\LyX\preferences
or whatever the equivalent location on a machine running under a
Hebrew locale is...
The installer will set LyX up for possibly many users by creating a
file
C:\Program Files\LyX\Resources\lyx\lyxrc.defaults
I'd guess that this is the file you should really be adjusting,
because you're really changing the behaviour of the software for all
users, no?
