As I wrote in the bug report it doesn't matter which version of imagemagick is installed, the additional option for pdf doesn't make problems, it is ignored in older versions of Imagemagick and only has an effect in recent versions.
In general, I would prefer that you refrain from adding patches to your releases, especially when matters are not windows-centric, and for bugs that have been present for ages (2445).
Installer version 1.9 is a testrelease to hear more opinions from the users. I got feedback that the button in the toolbar (bug 2455) is useful, but the menu entry is not. It needs too much clicks to use the menu, so that using return + increasing the depth is faster.
BTW, I saw someone complaining that LyX for windows was very slow. Did you compile with --disable-stdlib-debug?
I don't compile Lyx by myself, I use the versions Angus supplies. regards Uwe
