small update (yes i am stuck)

i did the following:

1. installed cygwin
latest setup from the cygwin site. used the default settings and added
   automake, make and gettext (?)

You will need autoconf and perl also.

2. installed qt-4.1.2 and also let the installer install mingw (3.4.2)

3. using tortoisesvn checked out trunk into my home dir (through windows
explorer)

4. launched cygwin

5. 'sh ./autogen.sh' stops and complains:
    aclocal not found -- aborting

anyone an idea on what i am doing wrong (and where)?

See above.

thanks! edwin

PS in what directory do i need to install zlib and libiconv btw ?

in mingw tree. Copy the gnuwin32 packages in Mingw root directory and under cygwin shell do: tar zxvf xxx.tar.gz

Why didn't you try my "ready" package? I hope that you could test my procedure...

Abdel.
