This patch works. I take that you mean the "backslash" problem. Is there any glitch with my proposed fix for it? It seems to work well in both 1.4 and 1.5. You will have "\backslash" in a latex file instead of "\\" but it may even help to avoid confusion in an eqnarray, for example. -- Enrico
