It is done like that by design. I agree that it is misleading, but
toggle all is not on by default. I do not think your solution is
better, it is not very predictable either.


I see your point, and I'm not enthralled by my solution (since it does depart from the logic of each application toggling the result), but what are the odds that someone would go into the dialog, change some font characteristic, set the toggle button, click Ok and *not* want it applied to the currently selected text?

Anyway, I've already submitted this to bugzilla, so someone will have to decide yea or nay and, if nay, cancel the bug report.
