No, it definitely needs a menu entry - for the reason why we have a menu
entry for "cut". There is no way for the unexperienced user to even
notice the existence of this wonderful feature, otherwise.
Regarding menu overloading: My plan is to re-animate the old "Layout"
menu and shift a couple of "Edit" entries to "Layout".
But I have another candidate:

in Insert->Special Characters
