Yao-Pin> Hi How can I type cubic root or n-th root in LyX?

Unfortunately you can't. The only solution I can think about is to
define in the preamble
\newcommand{\cubroot}{#1}{\sqrt[3]{#1}}
and enter manually
\cubroot{
in the math editor. The second brace will be added
automatically. Unfortunately, you will not have visual feedback for
your macro.
