Hi,

cross-references in my document come out with "()" after them
in the dvi previewer. Moreover, "page" cross references print
out *section* numbers, and they also have the "()" after them.

Using the Insert> pulldown brings up a dialog box where I
select the label. There is a typeable "Name" field on that
dialog. FWIW I find that any text I put into the Name field will
appear inside the parentheses, though I don't want any () or
text inside (), but just the section number.

This occurs with LyX 1.1.4, or 1.1.5 installed from the rpm
on ftp.sylvan.org, using LinuxDoc format. Some other package
levels:

[root@bughouse RPMS]# rpm -qa | egrep 'sgml|jade|lyx'
sgml-common-0.1-7
jade-1.2.1-9
lyx-1.1.5-1
sgml-tools-1.0.9-5

I was going to dig in the TeX output from the file to maybe
find what causes the () to appear. Somehow though, my lyx 1.1.5
does not offer an "Export>" as LaTeX option, although the manual
at section 7.2 would suggest this should exist:

"We'll say that again, specially separated for the
        particularly clue-impaired:

If you want a .tex file that you can send to a colleague,
select Export> as LaTeX from the File menu"

I admit to the occasional clue-impairment, but I'm still not sure
what I'm missing in this case. I will work my way through the
entire user manual in due course but have not read much beyond
section 7 in trying to obtain a LaTeX file.

Kevin
