Ok, everyone, bear with me.

I need to make a directory of phone numbers. Here's how I want to do it:

8.5X11 sheets folded into one another (so I will be printing landscape).

So the sheets will be printed as follows:
Sheet1(inside) pages 1 and 10
Sheet2(outside) pages 2 and 9
Sheet2(inside) pages 3 and 6
Sheet3(outside) pages 4 and 7
Sheet3(inside) pages 5 and 6

Second step: I need headers arranged so that as someone opens the
directory, facing pages get (left side) <name of organization> and (right side)
"Directory of Members and Friends."

Now, I need to know how I can get latex to run through the raw list of names
and put them into "pages" with the right headers, and to arrange them on a
series of larger (8.5X11) pages in order.

The headers have me especially vexed, since it is not so easy as making an
even/odd division-- its more like an every other even/every other odd division.

So: here's my question. How in hell do I do this? Is there a class which deals
with this in a simple way? And if not then how do I a) get the pages processed
in the order I need and then set into a larger sheet (with headers) and b) how
do I get the headers arranged accordingly?
