I think he is talking about the GUI settings. Their location is OS dependent. On Windows, the settings are stored in the system registry in HKCU\Software\LyX, while on cygwin and unix systems in the user home dir in ~/.config/LyX/lyx.conf. Not sure about Macs. -- Enrico
