Hi Gerd This is a known problem with macOS Tahoe and recent QT-builds. The problem are the dialog boxes which cannot be clicked. (More complicated ones are fine).
Workaround for your problem: (1) Rename your last saved lyx file for safety reasons (2) Edit the name of the emergency file by deleting the .emergency at the end of the filename. (3) Start lyx again. It will load the emergency file. In most cases, this is exactly what you need. Should there be a serious problem with the file, then close LyX, delete or rename the emergency file and work with the saved copy from (1). The same methods works for autosave files which might be present (“#" in the name). The problem you are experiencing is simply that LyX tries to load the newest emergency file or autosave file and asks for confirmation. The confirmation dialogue is the problem and makes LyX unresponsive.
