alt+m f will insert a fraction, you should have a look at all the keyboard 
link defined in the /usr/share/lyx/bind directory (I think the file used by 
LyX is defined in the configuration dialog), there is a math.bind file in 
there.
You can of course define your own binding by copying then modifying the files 
in your ~/.lyx/bin directory.
For example here are bindings I defined in the math.bind file
\bind "M-m b"                   "math-delim langle |"
\bind "M-m k"                   "math-delim | rangle"
they allow me to have immediately the "bra" <| and "ket" |> notation used in 
quantum mechanics ;-)
