The problem is here. You should run texconfig as a root and redefine hyphenation patterns loaded to your tex (there may be only limited number of them). Considering, that hebrew is rather non-standard language (no insult intended), I would consider to check the page of Herbert Voss (referenced on www.lyx.org) for more information on Hebrew in LyX. There should be also somewhere reference to the page of Dekel Tsur, who had a support for Hebrew ready. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their consciences. Thanks Mateji. bud it looks more like a bug in the redhat tetex-latex package. I've removed the line $</LHEenc> from the lheenc.def file and it started to work. Because of character '$' I guess that the file was created by some bugy script, which left the line there. Since the hebrew is a non-standrad language :) (taky mi nejde do hlavy proc vsichni nemluvi cesky ) it wasn't probably checked carefully. -- Tomas B. Winkler HUJI CSE
