I had a swell time using Lyx to work on this document in RedHat linux with Lyx 1.1.6fix4:
http://lark.cc.ukans.edu/~pauljohn/ResearchPapers/activists.pdf 2 problems came up I was not able to solve. My coauthor used a text editor to prepare some tabulars in LaTeX (I think he used WinEdt). The tabulars were OK on his end, but when I used reLyx to import the file, they got "bashed" by 1 column for each row. Where it should have been: a b c d e f g h i j k l m o p it came out a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p Have you seen it? The other question concerns giant monstrous figures. We collected a whole bunch of little screen shots and want to show them in a table that is 6x3. On a single page, we can fit a 3x3, and so the last ones have to go on a second page. I did this by creating a figure float, and then putting a tabular inside it, and filling the elements with pictures. If I put all the snaps in a single figure, then just run off the page, so I split them between two figure floats. You can see the example in my document referred to above on page 14-15. Lyx numbers the Figures as 5 and 6 and I made the title on 6 reflect it is a continuation, but I kinda wished that figure was numbered 5b and the first one was 5a. I don't have any publication precedent for this kind of thing, I'm happy to do whatever you guys recommend as standard. -- Paul E.
