For later reference for the lyx-user list The quick and dirty answer was to rewrite the ejour.cls file. I commented out the offending part from line 1527-1538 and this fixed the problem. If I knew more latex I could probably have made the "This article was authorer in lyx" appear at the end, after the last table where it should be.
