I can get good results from Staroffice/openoffice IF after printing to a file, I run ps2ps to correct the booboos of the suite. The output is quite nice but includes a great deal of whitespace and, sometimes, after running ps2ps the top portion of the desired image can be cut off and at the top of the page.
