wmf2eps

I use Lyx1.2.3, CygwinXfree86 on Windows XP.
I read in this list about wmf2eps utility, and tried using this as indicated in the download instructions.
It seems to create a .eps file but as soon as i try to view it with GSview4.3 (Ghostscript 8.00) for win32 it seems to cause the program to crash and an error report generated for microsoft.
The writer of the software uses this in a unix OS
Has anyone tried wmf2eps in WinXP context? what can i do to improve this? is there any other utility to convert wmf to eps for lyx purposes.
