Still, aspell has a larger memory footprint and processing time, so it might be not the best choice in all circumstances. (Also, there might be languages with ispell dictionary but no aspell dictionary, or a quite comprehensive personal ispell dictionary from former use...) Furthermore, I was able to setup and use ispell with lyx, but did not manage with aspell. (German, Gnu-Linux-Debian/testing) Günter -- G.Milde at web.de
