I would put this in the preamble:
% redfinition of \cleardoublepage w an empty page
\cleardoublepage
\hbox{}
\thispagestyle{empty}
\newpage
%
\AtEndDocument{\cleardoublepage}
Then would I need to insert anything into the text to be sure the empty page is
before the ERT for including the PDF that is the back cover?
