Thanks, \raggedright seems to have made fewer hyphenations.
But now I have some more question! In one section, the first line of the second paragraph extends 2 letters beyond the margin when I view the dvi file. I'm not sure why... the out of place word ends with "ed" if that matters. for example: In Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Text in this paragraph this word is out Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin Margin I've been reading the tutorial in LyX, and have learned that the 1st paragraph following sections and chapters aren't indented. Reading the tut is taking some time, so I hope everyone can have patience with the kinds of easy questions I'm asking. One more question I have is, how do I edit the class files or add my own? I would like to change the chapter class to have the chapter titles centered. Thanks, and hope everyone has a good evening! --- Dominik Waßenhoven <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Herbert Voss schrieb: > > > Uwe Stöhr wrote: > > [...] > >> > >> choose Layout -> Paragraph -> left aligned > > > > this makes only sense for a few paragraphs.
