There are some utilities you could try:
* pdfopt: this program optimizes pdf files so acrobat can show them
quicker. It might also help your printer.* Convert to postscript (pdftops, pdf2ps) before printing. You can then use ps2ps/pstops to further optimize the postscript file. ps2ps can change postscript language level, if that helps your printer.
