Nope, I fear.

1) Insert the following command in the preamble 
(Layout->Document->Preamble):
   \usepackage{multicol}

2) Write the first (top) part of Your letter.

3) After this part, insert an ERT (Insert->ERT) with the following 
content: \begin{multicols}{3} and close the ERT. Continue writing 
_after_ the ERT-box.

4) Finish using columns by entering the another ERT with the content 
\end{multicols}.
