I upgraded to AR7. Also, it seems you need to fill in with just `acroread´. Also, I used: chmod 777 -R lyx (I do not know if this is needed) btw: where are the new preferences going to be written into? If you look at the file lyxrc.example, there is some instruction about a congiguration file lyxrc, but it doesn`t seem to be necessary.
