sodiprodi is now inkscape

inkspace makes very nice SVG graphics and can export very nice PNG images.
however, inkscape has strong limitations exporting EPS - especially if
clip-path, scaling and the like is used (resulting EPS is broken - inkscape
developers are aware of this). simple SVG->EPS with inscape does work, and
is readily insertable as graphics in lyx (i have no problems).

alternatively, Xfig is a nice vector drawing tool to create EPS files (but
once you have tried inkscape you with to stay with inkscape! if only they
got proper SVG->PS support soon!)

Maybe a bit far-fetched, but 'skencil' loads SVG images, and can save in
PS/EPS format. I suspect Sodipodi (a native SVG editor) can load them and
print them to PS too.

This of any help?
