Maybe I missed to install it... > You need latex2rtf at http://latex2rtf.sourceforge.net/ I'm using debian which has it as a package called latex2rtf. It's probably available on ubuntu or you can try to install the debian version and then reconfigure lyx (so that it can find it). I have under file->export an option to export to rich text format. Haven't used it personally though. Never had the need. In mathematics just about everyone does latex, it's almost impossible to find someone who will take a word document. I know one professor who has a secretary to translate word to latex so that he can submit articles ;-)
