So you should disable it.

I have disabled compounds and insert regularely used compounds
into my personal dictionary. 

Aspell is helpfull by showing compounds as alternatives e.g.
"Konfiguration+Einstellungen" which will help you to decide whether the
components are spelled right.

A drawback of the personla dictionary words is that you need to insert
all valid variants (say "Konfigurationseinstellung" as well as
"Konfigurationseinstellungen").

AFAIK, no. 

There is a German grammar check available for OpenOffice,
which you *might* be able to use for an end-check. However, converting
between LyX and ooffice is not trivial, so I would not recommend a 
write in LyX -> check in oo -> continue in LyX style.
