I know this is a workaround too, but it looks nice. Use inkscape to create a svg containing the image and text. Or use gimp to create a png with it. Those are the solutions I have been using. You should be aware that the preview in Lyx scales pictures in a bad way. When you create a ps or pdf it looks nice. Of course, it would be better to create the text in latex, so that the fonts and all will look the same. -- Rune
