This sounds like it's going to be hard to diagnose and a little more information would be helpful. Have you tried multiple .bib files? Are you using the default bibliography manager or natbib or jurabib or something else? What .bst file are you trying to use? Maybe you could send a minimal example to the list for verification or diagnoses? Cheers, /Bob
