Lyx cannot convert LaTeX files

[JAHules]

I just installed Lyx but can't get it to import .tex files. I always get 
this error message:

   LyX: Cannot convert file
   An error occurred whilst running tex2lyx -f "*.tex" "*.lyx"
Any ideas?
