Hi again, Olivier,

The first file sent to elyxer was probably a little too complex. I killed
python after 40 minutes running full on one CPU.

This is the one I'm mostly interested on.

I found that the problem is not due to that file in particular but that any equation in "display" mode result in that CPU hogging. The very same equations pass well is "inline" mode. You can find attached a very basic test file for it. I do not now if it's due to something on my machine (antivirus, configuration) or to my LyX defaults (e.g. defaulting to using KOMA-script classes, own margins...)

I later gave it a less complex file and it returned a correct and nice
result (where htlatex fails). I appreciate the fact that the home-made
character styles are converted to a "Flex" CSS class, which can then be
created in CSS.

Any custom layouts are converted to custom CSS classes. You have
indeed good eyes.

I wonder if those CSS classes could have a name based on the LyX style one. It could then be easy to use always the same CSS for several documents.

Figure numbers are missing in the references. The link with a little blue
arrow works, but my text is full of "Fig. " without figure number.

Odd, captions should work fine. Again, please send me a sample
document if at all possible.

It is probably due to a local problem, like for the equations. You'd probably have hit that problem otherwise.

The HTML file is returned in a subfolder, so all images links are broken.
When moving the file in the parent folder (where the lyx file is, and where
the pdf/ps/TeX are exported, it works fine.

This is a design decision of Pavel Sanda (and for the record, I do not
agree with it):
  http://www.mail-archive.com/lyx-de...@lists.lyx.org/msg150892.html
There is the possibility of copying all referred image files, convert
them and then copy them back. This approach requires more work and I'm
still figuring it out.

IMHO the way firefox does it makes the most sense: the images are in a subfolder. The html itself should be either in that folder (like htlatex), or better, like any other exports with the original lyx file. I do not know how they (Firefox devs) do it, the html and its image/css/js folder are linked (at least on XP): if you move the file, the folder is moved with it.

There is one place in my file where I used the "\unittwo" tip given in LyX
docs (Appendix A "Typographic Advice" of Math docs).

The \unit tag is not supported yet. If you send me a sample doc I will
try to make it work.

In the attached file, the second equation uses it.

Yes, I know I am requesting a lot of sample files from you; but that
is how eLyXer has improved until now, thanks to kind testers. You can
also join the hall of fame!

Already on it (for nothing...)

Alex.

Thanks for that nice tool.

Best regards,

Olivier.

PS: I'm not sure my thunderbird will attach the file in the correct format for the list, so if it does not work, tell me. Also, the message is passing through gmane newsgroup interface, so I hope the lyx file won't be eaten.
