Maybe an e-mail to lyx-devel is in line. This is very, very normal, actually the way to get LyX in different languages used/recommended long before the UI setting came. I suppose you have (accidentially?) set the UI font (Werkzeuge>Einstellungen>Aussehen>Bilschirmschriften) to a Greek font (or Symbol). Try with a different UI font (I recommend DejaVu). Günter
