limit control error

Hello Lyx,
I have a problem, I finally was able to get my n-to-infinity directly
underneath the word "lim" using Edit>Math>change limit types>Display.
The problem is I cant get it to DVI or PDF because I get the following
error:  Limit Controls must follow a math operator.
I want my n-to-infinity arrow to be directly underneath the word "lim",
instead of in-line.
How do I ignore the arrow, unless there is a "preset" limit operator, like
summation or integral that I don't see.
