Odd. It works fine for me, with or without the '. I use lyx-2.0.0 in
linux (debian wheezy), with US English as the default language. Though I
don't know what impact using other systems or languages would have, you
should indicate what those parameters are. When you say it does not
produce a pdf file, does it give you an error message?
