There are three places that would need to be cared for: a) LyX GUI (menus, help files, ...), no hyphenation b) babel package for traditional latex c) polyglossia package for XeTeX/LuaTeX Only a) can be done by the LyX people. b) and c) is "LaTeX stuff". As both, babel and polyglossia are modular, this can also be achieved with contributed langauge files without need for changes to the package core. If b) or c) is ready but not supported by LyX please tell how this can be done. Günter
