I just went through this labourious process again on a new machine.
Yeah, I forgot how I did it a year ago, and could not figure out why
LaTeXConfig kept telling me I did not have them after I had untarred the
file in the correct place. Then I refound the ec doc files in teTeX.
I'll try to hack a perl script to make it easier for "stupid
americans":)
It seems like as good a way as any to get my feet wet with perl, but if
anybody thinks it should be done faster and cleaner, go for it.
Given the Notes in LaTeXConfig.lyx and the internationalization thread I
think it necessary to provide some instructions and support for
obtaining and installing the ec-fonts. I know a lot of stupid frenchmen,
stupid italians, and stupid germans etc. who are not going to get
through this easily :)
