installation of LyX 1.0.0pre2

Greetings,

Just to tell you that I have successfully and painlessly compiled and
installed LyX 1.0.0pre2 on a Debian 2.0R1 box (Pentium 100MHz).

The program seems to run faster and swifter. And i have enjoyed the
improvements so far (I haven't tested it pretty hard so I haven't found
any bugs).

I am also interested in helping with the new format, but after looking at
the LyX3 page, I am still confused on how all that works... (haven't
digged on the C code, yet)... if there's any comprehensive introduction, I
know a bit of Perl too... (actually now that Perl can be compiled into C,
it may be a possibility...)
