AFAIK, dictionary size is fixed for each compressed file and can't be changed because it has to be the same dictionary size that was used in the compression. I am not talking about dictionary but about output buffer. lzip is a (de)compressor while plzip is just a "data block manager" which sends and receives blocks to/from the real (de)compressor (lzlib). _Data block manager_? Well, lzlib is also de/compressor. I am lost here.
