It was suggested long ago by someone using Windows[1]   From that conversation 
I deduce it works for OS/2 too.   , and I don't plan to  touch it unless it 
breaks.   Reason I am asked was I could not find anything about __MSVCRT__ in 
MSDN (quoted) and there already was question on that in MinGW discussion.
