I tend to agree with wrotycz, specially when help (long) becomes manual (man), where it is expected to be 'neitral' and 'subjective', by which I mean the same for -h and -vh.
To be honest I only noticed that shirt and long help in xz and zstd slighly differ after it has been pointed in this thread, and am not alone in this. I bet vast majority is not either. It really does not matter.

Info is not man, and such comparison is not 'fair'.
Brief is whatever fits on terminal screen. Long help does not.
That --help equivalent to long help aligns with upx, which I dont consider GNU-compatible with their interface.

And I wouldnt call it simpler, with two separate help options, instead of one.
