I have the pcb hanging down so the bottom edge of the pcb is
just above
the bottom corner of the laptop. That positions the usb cable
far enough
down that the very end of the molded boot is still below the
top edge of
the laptop. I don't know if this arrangement is the best, but
it was
easy to try and see, and doesn't interfere with either the
serial or
phone ports.
