remember, the reason for the upgrade is the fairly damaging bug discovered
with REXCPM, which corrupts the file system. So, not surprising things
could be messed up.  A cold restart WITH A POWER CYCLE is necessary to make
sure REXCPM starts up in default state and has freshly cleaned out RAM.
