Steve, The Sardine code in mComm has code for responding to the TPDD1 sectors. I also have some old C# code for a TPDD client that I used to make copies of some disks. At the time I wrote it I only had a TPDD2 (now sold) so it probably isn't what you are looking for, but I could send it your way.
