This is a known issue :

However, there is no way, today, to make it work automatically. WTP has no
knowledge of m2e-wtp's overlays and I honestly don't know if it's possible
to plug into WTP's validation, content assist mechanisms.

I will happily review and apply quality patches in that area :-)
