I got a POC running some time ago, that I pushed to github[1], you can
install it from bintray[2] (I rebased it against latest m2e 1.7 code,
requires Java 8 to run)

- it only covers the search engine used during content assist in
pom.xml, but not the whole dependency search wizard
- exposes okhttp libs from m2e runtime, we should most likely provide
okhttp from a bundle in Eclipse Orbit instead
- groupId search on solr returns very limited results, it becomes more
accurate as you type
- most probably it won't work under a proxy
- it's a POC, don't expect elegant code ;-)
