Strangely enough, I uninstalled eGit, and then reinstalled eGit (same
version) and this time seems to work.  I see get the duplicate binding
message when starting in the console, however this time I get a functional
maven log.

Thanks for the heads up.  I was getting a little frustrated uninstalling
different plugins trying to figure out the culprit(s).
